Chopper Twirls Wildly into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Coast
A helicopter flying above a crowded California beach unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm fronds as spectators looked on.
Videos posted on the internet capture the chopper starting to spin above Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palm groves and a staircase close to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Information
Local firefighters stated five individuals were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
