Fatal School Occurrence
Mohammed Umar Khan knifed the victim, also aged 15 years old, in the chest with a weapon at the All Saints Catholic High School in the second month.
Mrs Justice Naomi Ellenbogen revoked the identity protection restriction on the killer during the punishment phase at Sheffield Crown Court.
Relatives Statement
Harvey's mother stated she felt "as if a heavy load has been taken off my shoulders" following the judgment.
The pair of teenagers had earlier disputed over social media in the time leading up to the fatal incident.
Mrs Willgoose mentioned she was pleased the lowest period had been determined higher than the legal minimum of 15-year period.
"My father has been undergoing medical treatment through the court proceedings and he just couldn't continue any longer," she expressed.
Background of the Incident
Leading up to the homicide on February 3rd, the perpetrator and the victim had taken opposite viewpoints in a different disagreement between two other students.
Surveillance video from the occasion of the incident showed the perpetrator coming near Harvey in the outdoor area shortly after noon.
Observers described a scene of "chaos", with people "fleeing, screaming all around" during the aggressive event.
Judicial Trial
During the legal proceedings, the defendant stated he had not intended to murder the deceased or cause him serious harm, stating he could not recall what had happened.
The prosecution countered that he had "desired to show he was tough" and "knew exactly what he was doing".
"You acted as the instigator and... you behaved in distress and fury at what you viewed to be his disloyalty of your friendship," stated the justice during the punishment phase.
Fallout
The educational institution released a statement conveying that Harvey was "greatly missed every daytime by the entire educational community".
Investigators highlighted the tragic consequences of bearing blades, observing that a "momentary choice" can forever alter multiple existences.
The case has initiated continuing dialogues about youth aggression, blade possession, and learning environment safety procedures throughout the area.
